The Department of Anesthesiology emphasizes postgraduate education in anesthesiology and offers opportunities to develop clinical and research skills in all areas of anesthesiology, critical care, and pain medicine.
Selected candidates will be responsible for providing high-quality training and teaching, delivering clinical care, and/or conducting research.
Candidates must have an MD or equivalent, MD/PhD, or PhD in a health-related field. Candidates with an MD or equivalent must be board eligible or board certified in Anesthesiology.
Candidates with an MD or equivalent must also hold, or be eligible for, a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the California Medical Board.

The University of California, San Diego, Department of Anesthesiology is committed to academic excellence among its faculty, staff, and students, and seeks to recruit Project Scientists and Research Scientists. Key responsibilities:
• Design, manage, and conduct experiments relevant to ongoing research projects.
• Train, mentor, and teach students, postdoctoral scholars, and others in the research setting.
• Lead and/or contribute innovative and significant efforts to assigned project(s).
• Participate in and present research findings at scientific meetings.
• Write and/or contribute to scientific reports, manuscripts, and grant proposals for submission and publication.
Candidates must have a doctoral-level degree (e.g., Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent) in Bioinformatics, a health-related discipline, or a closely related field. Candidates who are certified Epic Cosmos superusers and/or have experience as data architects or data scientists on the Epic Cosmos data platform are preferred.
